With the current prevalence of electronic media assaulting one at every turn, is the classic art of the poster still relevant today? Does that carefully designed piece still have a place in modern design and marketing campaigns or has it become nothing more than an exercise in fulfilling a designer's vanity? Join us at this month's topical and perhaps controversial 'Say Anything'.
See posters that local designers have designed to help promote Phoenix Design Week October 21-25. And you can vote on your favorite through this Friday!
Phoenix Design Week kicks off with the Design Schools Poster Show at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20. Come to Kitchen Sink Studios in Phoenix where you can view the work of four universities' design students who accepted the challenge to design a poster promoting awareness of social issues and charity causes, as well as an international collection of posters in association with Good50x70.org and poster4tomorrow.org.
Say Anything is a roundtable discussion for independent designers, business owners, freelancers etc. The topics will change from month to month, ranging from: contracts, pricing, marketing, finances, taxes, and other business issues. This event is open to members and non-members, with the free incentive offered only to AIGA members.
Please let us know if you'd like to attend - RSVP to programs@arizona.aiga.org. If you do RSVP and are unable to attend, PLEASE e-mail your cancellation by Monday, October 12 at 11 a.m. Say Anything can be a packed house, and we can offer your seat to another eager person if you let us know in time.

Interesting topic! I hope to be able to make this one. I know I say that each time, but I really am trying for this one.
