Has spec work become the bane of the 21st century graphic designer? From design contests to logo competitions; we've seen them all. But is this practice ethical? Come join us at July's Say Anything as we discuss this hot-button trend in today's business world.
Say Anything is a roundtable discussion for independent designers, business owners, freelancers etc. The topics will change from month to month, ranging from: contracts, pricing, marketing, finances, taxes, and other business issues. This event is open to members and non-members, with the free incentive offered only to AIGA members.
Please let us know if you'd like to attend — RSVP to programs@arizona.aiga.org. If you do RSVP and are unable to attend, PLEASE e-mail your cancellation by Monday, July 13 at 11 a.m. Say Anything can be a packed house, and we can offer your seat to another eager person if you let us know in time.

I'm in. I'd love to hear the reasoning from the "pro-spec" camp.

Awesome. I'd love to invite an ad rep from our office to join in. We do a bunch of spec work.

I'm planning to be there. p.s. You need to fix the link on the RSVP e-mail, it's missing the last "g".

I think this one is going to be an interesting - and lively - discussion. It's been a big topic at SXSW and the AIGA leadership retreat. I'm looking forward to it.
