Where is AIGA in Tucson?
Or Flagstaff? Or Sedona?
From the outside, it probably appears that the leadership of AIGA Arizona isn't interested in holding events outside the Phoenix area. The reality is that we simply don't have the manpower. Planning events involves a bunch of steps, one of which is being nearby to visit venues and make connections.
Currently all of the active members of the Board of Directors live in the Phoenix area. This is the team that leads the chapter and works (volunteers) to make events happen, connect with membership and the design community, and all of the other things that go with running an AIGA chapter.
To help ease the challenges of a spread out design community we're boosting our online discussion area. You can join our Facebook group Arizona AIGA to post discussion topics and connect with your fellow AIGA Arizona members.
What's needed to get more events in Tucson? A Tucson subcommittee. You're there, you know your town, and we're here to help you succeed. All it takes is a group of dedicated people to meet together, and we'll provide the tools and guidance so you don't have to start from zero.

My membership is actually up for renewal this month and I was about to make the decision not to renew because of this reason!
