AIGA Arizona recognized the life work of Meryl Epstein from the Art Institute of Phoenix by awarding her with a Fellow award. The Fellow award program is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community as well as in their local AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation, as well as the practice of design are given equal consideration in measuring significant contribution.

Comments (2)The Arizona chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, will be participating in a
community mural art project "Public Speaking" with Tucson's The Art Fare. The mural, to be painted October 17, 2006 at 55 N. 6th Avenue, is going to be painted with assistance from community volunteers and it's designer, Stefan Bucher, who is recognized as one of America's leading graphic designers.
