Part Time Design Assistant

Position Overview

  • Developing a variety of marketing materials for sophisticated clients using established graphic standards
  • Creating HTML emails in Dreamweaver
  • "Tightening" up layouts to prepare for printing
  • Maintaining and organizing libraries of samples, paper, etc.
  • Coordinating shipments, deliveries and ordering
  • Work will vary on a daily basis

 

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of print and web production

Visual Communications Manager

Position Overview: The Visual Communications Manager is responsible for supporting various organization-wide initiatives through developing visual elements and standards related to: branding, marketing, communications, development, program needs, and general graphic/web design development. New Global Citizens operates in an entrepreneurial environment in which individual staff members own, manage, and lead certain functions within the organization to keep the movement growing in an innovative and efficient manner. To that end, Visual Communications Manager owns the following functions:

  • Develop and maintain the organization branding by assuring articulation of NGC’s desired look and feel, ensuring consistent communication of look and feel throughout the organization, and communication of look and feel to all constituencies, both internal and external
  • Develop visual content to support marketing strategies, campaigns and collateral materials including, but not limited to, the following areas:
    • Alumni Program: Creation of all new collateral materials with unique branch of the visual identity, a new and robust portion of the website which will most likely be released in phases.
    • Online Marketplace: Creation of materials for the online marketplace which will include new t-shirt designs and other relevant items for revenue generation purposes, tailored to at least three different clients: partners, students, and donors.
    • New Curriculum: Creation and development, in conjunction with the Program team, new online trainings, a printed action manual, updates to existing collateral, a more standardized and specific visual language, and a newsletter design.
    • Team Recruitment: A new version of the existing collateral, new presentations for all staff to use, advertisements for various website dimensions, maintenance or creation of presence on social media sites: WiserEarth, FaceBook, Twitter, etc.
    • Development: Creation of materials for fundraising events, and materials which will accompany efforts to develop new individual funding stream; creation of packages to send existing donors to show impact and encourage stronger relationships between them and the organization.
    • Partnerships: Creation of new materials with unique branch of the visual identity, design for a new portion of the website, a more intuitive tool for navigating partnership projects for students, new materials to digitally send partners to encourage stronger relationships with organization and students.
  • Manage relationships with web consultants and printers; maintain NGC’s website

Web Designer

Job Description
Capitol Bancorp Limited, with offices located in Phoenix, AZ, is currently looking to fill the position of Web Designer. This position is responsible for creating and updating pages for individual bank Internet sites and for the Capitol Bancorp Intranet. This requires working closely with the Marketing Department, the Electronic Banking Manager, and the designated Internet Banking contacts within each affiliated bank for internet updates and working with all Capitol Bancorp departments for Intranet updates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Daily updates to the Bank web sites and Capitol Bancorp Intranet.
  2. Codes and implements the changes to the Internet Banking web pages for the CBC banks and holding companies.
  3. Implement changes in the Capitol Bancorp Intranet system at the direction of the Senior Web Designer or Development Manager.
  4. Create new sites for De Novo Banks and re-designs for scheduled Banks.
  5. Register new domains and set up the DNS server and email settings.
  6. Using version control and the web site promotion process (test, staging, and production).
  7. Implementation of Internet sites following established standards.
  8. Implementation of SharePoint Content Query Web Parts and Workflows.
  9. Work with helpdesk / end users to resolve SharePoint issues.
  10. May perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain backup copies of the Internet Banking source files at a CBC location.
  2. Provide consulting support for Internet activities to CBC management.

Job Requirements

  1. Ability to code web pages and to debug as needed (XHTML, XSL, HTML, CSS, ASP, XML, DHTML, SQL, and JavaScript) and use appropriate web design tools (including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Macromedia Dream Weaver and Swish Max).
  2. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 development experience, including page creation using SharePoint Designer, Web Part configuration, including Content Query, XLST Styling for Web Parts and Workflow implementation.
  3. Excellent understanding of Windows-based Operating Systems and productivity applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  4. Good oral and courteous communications skills and able to relate well to employees and to users who need assistance.
  5. Ability to work in a Unix environment, good understanding of Apache and Red Hat with ability to troubleshoot administrative system problems.
  6. Creation and deployment of IIS web sites, including .Net

Training/Preparation Required

  1. An Associate’s degree in a related area or at least 3 years of related experience in Graphic/Web design.
